About Us
Japanese Language and Literature Department was established in 2010, which was celebrated as “The Japan Year 2010 in Turkey”. Our department aims to train students who can use the Japanese language in written and oral communication; and who has knowledge on Japanese culture, Japanese literature and Japanese history. In our department, it is also aimed to train people who can contribute to the development of relations between the Republic of Turkey and Japan.
The department has a four-year undergraduate program. The first student admission was in the 2017-2018 academic year. The quota of undergraduate students for 2017-2018 academic year was 25 students and it increased in the following years. Our department also has a library where students can reach the sources about Japan, Japanese language, literature and so on. Our department has 3 Assistant Professors, 4 Japanese Lecturers and 1 Research Assistant.
Our university is located in the Cappadocia region where the Japanese tourist density is, so it provides a great advantage for our students for practicing Japanese language.
